Fort Zeelandia (top left) is a human landmark located in Tainan that was originally built by the Dutch to be an important stronghold for early settlements. The Taiwan Confucian Temple (top middle) was built in 1665 as a place to educate the intellectuals and to hold lectures. For over 300 years, Confucianism served as a leading doctrine in Taiwan. The Mengjia Longshan Temple (top right) is the oldest temple in Taipei. Originally built in the Qing Dynasty, this temple now hosts the gatherings of Buddhists, Matsu, and Taoists twice a month. The Dragon and Tiger Pagodas (bottom left) are often said of bringing good luck to the visitors if they walk through the dragon mouth and leave through the tiger's mouth. Liberty Square is a landmark in Taipei city that has the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall which was built to commemorate Taiwan's former president.

Queen's Head of Yehliu Geopark (top left) in Northern Taiwan is a landmark because of the intricate rock formations. Taroka National Park is famous for its marbled walls and is located in Eastern Taiwan. Alishan National Scenic Area (top right) rests in Southern Taiwan and is a mountain resort and nature preserve. Sun Moon Lake (bottom left) is the largest lake in Taiwan. It got the name 'Sun Moon' because the eastern part of the lake looks like a sun and the western part looks like a crescent moon. Qixing Mountain (bottom right) is the highest mountain in Taipei as well as the highest volcano in Taiwan.
